Fall Fun in Rhode Island
As experts in corporate recruiting, our team at Shaw Search Partners understands the need to optimize one’s work and life balance. As we find ourselves in the midst of Fall, we thought we would put together a list of our five favorite ways to enjoy fall in Rhode Island.
Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo
Roger Williams Park Zoo’s annual Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is the perfect fall activity to do with family, or friends. The trail takes you past 5,000 pumpkins, carved and decorated to represent music from the last 150 years. Put this at the top of your list this fall, as the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is only open from now until Halloween. You can purchase tickets here!
The Hard-Pressed Cider Company
The Hard-Pressed Cider Company is located on Windmist Farm in Jamestown, Rhode Island and will remain open from now until Thanksgiving. At Hard-Pressed Cider Company you can try a variety of cider beverages, from a hot mulled cider to a cider slushie. And don’t forget to try the very popular and very delicious cider doughnuts, which can be bought by the half dozen, dozen, or single doughnuts. But, trust us you’ll want the dozen.
Pumpkin Picking
Rhode Island is home to a variety of pumpkin patches, including Confreda Farms (Hope, RI), Pezza Farms (Johnston, RI), Salisbury Farm (Johnston, RI), Sweet Berry Farm (Middletown, RI), and more. This is the perfect fall day for you and your family. Check out a pumpkin patch near you and find the perfect pumpkin to carve for Halloween. And a plus? Some of these patches even have non-haunted hayrides and corn mazes!
Haunted Hayride and Corn Maze - Scary Acres
If you are trying to get into the Halloween spirit, Scary Acres haunted hayride and corn field is the perfect place to go. Located at Confreda Farms in Hope, Rhode Island, Scary Acres has been voted the #1 Haunt by Cosmopolitan magazine. Tickets and hours can be found on their website. Go check it out, but just be prepared to scream.
Visit a Vineyard
Enjoy the outdoors before winter is officially here and visit one of Rhode Island’s beautiful vineyards. We suggest Newport Vineyards in Middletown, Rhode Island. Along with a beautiful view, Newport Vineyards offers their guests the choice of wine, freshly crafted beer and a menu of food. Newport Vineyards has you covered for the day and you are sure to enjoy it.
So whether it’s a trip to the pumpkin patch, a haunted hayride, or a day-trip to a vineyard or cider yard, we hope that these tips help you and your family have an enjoyable and memorable fall. From our Shaw Search family to yours, happy Fall!
