We are seeking a Digital Ecommerce Marketing leader who thinks big, pushes boundaries to drive business results, and always keeps the consumer at the center of everything they do. As the Director of Ecommerce Marketing Growth Strategy, you will lead a team and partner across the organization to drive digital retail growth. You will have regular contact with the CMO, leaders in marketing, and retail and digital executives as we look to deliver a connected ecommerce experience and enhanced value for our customers. This role will be pivotal to help understand traffic & trip drivers, where to focus, how to message, and what offers and opportunities will have the greatest impact. Marketing activation channels span across paid (e.g. search, social, display), owned (e.g. email, SMS, site assets) and earned (e.g. influencers).
You will also be responsible for helping identify opportunities for outsize growth, analyzing traffic & engagement data to identify barriers to trail, and crafting well-thought-out strategies to drive customer growth & engagement for our ecommerce business. You will also support large-scale digital marketing & experience projects, such as a site redesign and the launch of new ecommerce offerings (such as Buy Online, Pickup In Store).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads the development of annual marketing plans in support of our e-commerce, including identifying and bringing new ideas and innovative approaches to the organization.
Drive large scale projects that improve the customer experience online, e.g. a visual redesign of the site
Becomes to go-to partner for Digital leaders to identify, understand, and collaboratively solve for shopper barriers driving sales change and develop strategies to drive incremental sales and share growth.
Seamlessly pivot back and forth from providing thoughtful insight on strategic marketing efforts and day-to-day project management of campaigns in development
Collaborate with Business and Enterprise Partners on identifying challenges, opportunities and value of new opportunities.
Lead the development of learning agendas, identification of consumer insights, and in-market test & learn plans required to determine addressable / attainable business opportunities. Partner with Customer Analytics to establish program measurement plans and reporting.
Develop business cases and market sizing for ground-breaking digital & ecommerce investments & initiatives.
Analyze the pipeline of new work and makes decisions related to prioritization, champion change management and gain alignment from the business and Marketing Leadership.
Identify stakeholders across the enterprise for governance teams. Lead recurring cross-functional meetings to ensure project deliverable accountability and socialization of progress.
Lead multiple teams of colleagues performing related work, set priorities, and allocate resources. Regularly assess/build capability of the team to ensure talent builds on strengths and continues to develop skills necessary to deliver results.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred. Ideally, an MBA.
• 8-10+ years of marketing experience with a strong foundation of business, retailer, and consumer understanding.
• 6+ years cross-functional leadership experience.
• 4+ years of retail marketing, marketing consulting, or retail agency/strategy experience.
• 3+ years of digital marketing experience including examples of testing and validating emerging opportunities
• 2+ years of people management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Well-rounded digital ecommerce & marketing strategy athlete, highly comfortable with executive messaging
• Strong creative judgement and experience driving world-class omnichannel creative/digital touchpoints.
• Highly comfortable with ambiguity – can structure an approach and confidently rally others around their strategy
• Previous consulting or project management experience that enables this leader to drive complex projects with external agency • partners and large internal stakeholder groups – e.g. a site redesign project
• Proven track record of the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external business partners in delivering positive ROI results.
• Intellectual curiosity and rigorous analytical experience and a strong familiarity with the digital environment
• Excellent communication skills that can be effectively articulated in both written and oral forms across a diverse audience base.
• Creative problem solver who can incorporate new learnings into existing plans and act decisively and independently.
• Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
