Five Ways to Enjoy Summer in Boston
As experts in corporate recruiting, our team at Shaw Search Partners understands the need to optimize one’s work/life balance. As Fall seems to be quickly approaching, we thought we would put together a list of our five favorite ways to enjoy summertime in the beautiful city of Boston.
Fenway Park
Fenway Park – home of the Boston Red Sox - is one of Boston’s most historic and iconic sites to see. Whether it is to watch a ball game, attend a concert, or take a tour, Fenway Park offers fun for the whole family. While you are there make sure to enjoy a Fenway Frank and take a look down at the field from the Green Monster.
Explore Faneuil Hall Marketplace
What a great way to spend the whole day. Faneuil Hall has you covered if you are looking to shop, dine, or simply sightsee. The Marketplace consists of Quincy Market, South Market and North Market and offers tourists and locals a variety of dining options, from grab and go to dine in. There is no shortage of New England’s favorite foods, including lobster rolls and clam chowder. Faneuil Hall also has several shopping stores that offer everything from tourist gifts at local business pushcarts to well-known retail stores such as Urban Outfitters and The Black Dog.
Boston Duck Tours
The Boston Duck Tours is one of the best ways to explore the city. Departing from your choice of three locations, the Prudential Center, the Museum of Science and the New England Aquarium, Boston’s Duck Tour takes passengers on a narrated tour of some of Boston’s most historic landmarks and sites - both on land and on water! Tickets can be purchased online up to 30 days in advance and group ticket options are available for booking!
Dinner in the North End
Looking for an authentic Italian dinner spot? There is no wrong choice when it comes to the restaurants in the North End. From pizza shops to upscale restaurants, to family-owned Italian bakeries, you are sure to leave full and happy. Just make sure to leave room for dessert and stop by the famous Mike’s Pastry, for a homemade cannoli that will have you planning your next trip back before you even leave.
We also recommend keeping a lookout for the various feasts and festivals that are scheduled for the upcoming summer. A night of food, music and dancing in one of Boston’s most charming areas.
Picnic at the Boston Common
Boston Common is known as the oldest public park in the country and is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon with the family, for little to no cost. The open landscape of the park makes it a perfect place to enjoy a picnic, throw a frisbee, or just relax in the sun. And, if you are looking to entertain your little ones, Boston Common offers their Frog Pond Spray Pool every day from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and their Carousel every day from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is truly a place where all are welcome.
At Shaw Search Partners, we are experts in recruiting and also know it’s not all about your career! Spend some time soaking up Summer 2021 in Boston!
