Sunset at Beavertail Park

Summer sunsets are always a good bet for Summer fun. Some of the best sights can be seen at Beavertail Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island. With some of the most gorgeous views of the New England coastline, sunsets at Beavertail can be enjoyed from your car or by walking along the rocky coastline or from one of the four overlooks there. Check out The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum while you’re there that offers information about the property, Narragansett Bay, and the shipping industry that helped shape Rhode Island.

Block Island

Block Island is just south of mainland Rhode Island. To get there, you must take a ferry or a small plane. Block Island boasts all the best of Summer fun including; biking, parasailing, hiking, sunbathing, kayaking, shopping, dining, horseback riding and moped riding. Think old world charm and some of the most beautiful white sand beaches around. Dramatic cliffs make the landscape on the island even more breathtaking. Don’t miss the island’s 2 beautiful lighthouses or the Maze and Clayhead Preserve off Corn Neck Road, a secluded spot to take in the peace and quiet of nature on the island.

Polo in Newport

Looking for a fun way to spend a Rhode Island afternoon? Each Saturday in June through September for 30 seasons, the Newport International Polo Series features teams from around the world & from major US cities competing against USA / Newport. The polo match takes place at the historic and picturesque Glen Farm in Portsmouth, R.I., only six miles north of scenic downtown Newport. The game lasts for about an hour and a half, and is made up of six seven-minute chukkers. There's a fifteen-minute half, during which you'll be invited to go out onto the field to stomp divots. Bring a picnic blanket and some snacks and enjoy general admission or level up with pavillion seats or tailgating tickets. Newport Polo is an incredible way to spend Summer in Little Rhody!

Watch Hill

One of the most idyllic and charming coastal villages in Rhode Island is Watch Hill. Enjoy the Merry Go Round and Watch Hill Beach, visit the Watch Hill lighthouse and take in all the beauty this spot has to offer. The Ocean House boasts many events like “Movies and Pizza on the Beach” and “Lobster Boils.” We can’t think of a better way to make Summer memories.

Providence Flea

You can’t visit Rhode Island in the Summertime without a stop in the city of Providence. From fantastic dining to amazing events, Providence boasts so much to enjoy. Plan your trip around the Providence Flea...a marketplace for carefully selected, small- and micro-businesses and their wares.
